Canada’s Energy Future 2026 (EF2026) results show notable growth—10% to 150%—in bioenergy demand, between 2023 and 2050. EF2026 projects growth in various types of bioenergy through detailed modeling under four scenarios: Lower, Current Measures (CM), Higher, and Canada Net-Zero (CNZ). These scenarios show bioenergy demand growth of 10%, 32%, 73%, and 150% respectively, between 2023 and 2050 (Figure 1).
